The only way to weld titanium to steel is by explosive welding. The process of explosive welding can be difficult to work with. Customers typically want large plate sizes, and thin clad layers, which makes it even more difficult. Sigmabond has converted this "craft" type process into a high volume, low cost, repeatable process. We have eliminated many of the shortcomings of the conventional methods of explosive welding to develop a much more streamlined process. We have also developed innovations that enable the material to be hot roll bonded. This is a revolutionary advancement forward in the industry.
